Prof. Sa'idu Muhammad Gusau is a renowned scholar and academician specializing in Hausa Language, Literature, and Culture. With over four decades of professional excellence, he has become a leading authority on Hausa oral traditions, cultural studies, and literature.

Prof. Gusau began his career in education as a primary and secondary school teacher before joining Bayero University, Kano, in 1990. Rising through the academic ranks, he became a full Professor in 2000. His work focuses on the intersection of culture, oral poetry, and literature, contributing significantly to the preservation and advancement of Hausa heritage.

He has authored over 20 books, including Makaxa da Mawaqan Hausa, Jagoran Nazarin Waqar Baka, and Diwanin Waqoqin Baka (Volumes I-IV). These works are critical references in Hausa studies, covering topics such as oral poetry, Hausa history, and the evolution of cultural identity.

Prof. Gusau has held prominent positions, including Head of the Department of Nigerian Languages at Bayero University and membership in the Governing Board of the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development (NIPRID). He represented the African Academy of Languages (ACALAN) in cross-border language development initiatives, emphasizing the importance of Hausa in global cultural discourse.
